Simsbury, CT, August 27, 2015– Senior Living Development LLC engineered the sale of 15 acres on Powder Forest Drive in Simsbury, CT to Seabury at Powder Forest LLC which closed last Thursday. The site is zoned for 186 independent/assisted living residences and will be considered for possible future development by Seabury after the expansion at their existing community in Bloomfield. Senior Living Development LLC engineered and designed the concept plan used in obtaining the zone change while securing Seabury as the purchaser.
“We have been working on this project for over a year and it has involved a lot of cooperation from many stakeholders to get it over the line. Both the land owner, Ensign-Bickford and Seabury deserve a lot of credit for their assistance and vision. EGA Architects and Dymar Engineering along with Greenbrier Consultants played a very important role and displayed exceptional talent,” Mark De Pecol, CEO of Senior Living Development said. “This grants Seabury the possibility of expanding its very successful CCRC presence in Bloomfield to a greater market area at a location that is very beautiful, site development friendly and zoned for use.”
The Town of Simsbury has looked favorably upon this use to meet the demand of senior housing and created a flexible Planned Area Development regulation to accommodate desirable uses with zoning guidance. The use will provide tax revenues without the burden of many town services associated with typical housing.
Senior Living Development LLC acquires and develops strategic properties for the senior housing industry in CT and has become a leader in ground up development opportunities for the assisted living market.
